DESCRIPTION:This 16-hour workshop is two days full of investigative topics centered around animal cruelty investigations. Topics for this workshop include dangerous dog investigations\, animal hoarding investigations\, animal cruelty and neglect\, animal welfare assessments\, the starvation process\, body condition scoring\, and more. \nThis workshop is ideal for: \n\nAnimal care and control agencies that play a role in protecting animals from abuse and neglect.\nNewer officers that need an orientation to the animal cruelty investigation process.\nVeteran officers that want to learn the newest investigation techniques.\n\nThis workshop is approved for 16-hours of continuing education units by the American Animal Cruelty Investigations School. \nCompletion Standards\nCompletion of this course requires that all registrants attend the entire course\, participate in all discussions and hands-on training exercises\, pass a written examination with a score of 80% or higher. \nCertifications Provided\nAttendees will receive a certificate of attendance and continuing education units issued by the American Animal Cruelty Investigations School. DESCRIPTION:The Rhode Island Basic Animal Control Certification – Module B is an instructor-led course designed for law enforcement and animal care and control personnel who are responsible for performing the animal care and control function as required by Rhode Island law.  This is the second part of a two-part certification course for Rhode Island animal control officers. This course also qualifies as a stand-alone animal cruelty investigator certification. \nThis course includes block training in dangerous dog investigations\, hoarding investigations\, dogfighting investigations\, neglect and intentional cruelty investigations\, legal environment\, crime scene processing\, and zoonotic diseases. \nCompletion Standards\nStudents must attend all lectures\, participate in all hands-on activities and scenario-based training\, and pass written examination with a score of 75% or higher. \nCertifications Provided\nRegistrants that successfully pass this course will receive a certification from the American Animal Cruelty Investigations School with the designation as an Canine/Feline Animal Cruelty Investigator as well as Animal Control Officer – Module B for the state of Rhode Island.  A third certification is included in this class for conducting Investigative Body Condition Score Assessments for canine and feline animals. Once both module A and B have been completed\, officers will receive a full certification as an Animal Control Officer – State of Rhode Island.

Students are issued a Fluke 62 Max Plus infrared thermometer as part of the training class. \nCompletion Standards\nCompletion of this course requires that all registrants attend the entire course\, participate in all discussions and hands-on training exercises\, pass a written examination with a score of 75% or higher\, and pass the practical assessment test in the areas of animal assessment\, heatstroke treatment\, vehicle processing\, and report writing. \nCertifications Provided\nRegistrants that successfully pass this course will receive a certification from the American Animal Cruelty Investigations School with the certification in Infrared Thermometry.

DESCRIPTION:Dangerous Dog Investigator Certification\nCullman\, AL\nCourse Description\nThe AACIS Chemical Immobilization Certification Course is an instructor-led course designed for law enforcement and animal care and control professionals whose duties may require the use of anesthetizing chemicals to immobilize an animal for the purpose of capturing it. \nRegistrants will participate in open discussions and demonstrate proficiency in animal knowledge\, pharmacology\, dosage calculations\, decision-making\, handling post-capture emergencies\, equipment handling\, and proper documentation of a chemical immobilization operation. Additionally\, students must demonstrate marksmanship\, projector safety\, and qualify on the range with a projector. \nCompletion Standards\nCompletion of this course requires that all registrants attend the entire course\, participate in all discussions and hands-on training exercises\, pass a written examination with a score of 75% or higher\, and pass the practical assessment test in the areas of drug calculations\, marksmanship\, scene assessment\, and drug handling. \nCertifications Provided\nRegistrants that successfully pass this course will receive a certification from the American Animal Cruelty Investigations School with the designation as a certified Chemical Immobilization Technician. \nTuition Fees\nThe early registration fee for this course is $350.00; the general registration fee is $400.00; the late registration fee for this course is $450.00 (see the course information PDF for deadline dates). \nCourse Information PDF\n

DESCRIPTION:Canine & Feline Investigator / Alabama ACO Module B\nBirmingham\, Alabama\nCourse Description\nThe Alabama Basic Animal Control Certification – Module B is an instructor-led course designed for law enforcement and animal care and control personnel who are responsible for performing the animal care and control function as required by Alabama law.  This is the second part of a two-part certification course for Alabama animal control officers. This course also qualifies as a stand-alone animal cruelty investigator certification. \nThis course includes block training in dangerous dog investigations\, hoarding investigations\, dogfighting investigations\, neglect and intentional cruelty investigations\, legal environment\, crime scene processing\, and zoonotic diseases. \nCompletion Standards\nStudents must attend all lectures\, participate in all hands-on activities and scenario-based training\, and pass written examination with a score of 75% or higher. \nCertifications Provided\nRegistrants that successfully pass this course will receive a certification from the American Animal Cruelty Investigations School with the designation as an Canine/Feline Animal Cruelty Investigator as well as Animal Control Officer – Module B for the state of Alabama.  A third certification is included in this class for conducting Investigative Body Condition Score Assessments for canine and feline animals. Once both module A and B have been completed\, officers will receive a full certification as an Animal Control Officer – State of Alabama.
